About Us

ZapTXT lets you keep track of topics you care about across sources you trust. You can use it to do all kinds of things - find a job, monitor customer or competitor intelligence, get an apartment, track your favorite blogs, or sports teams (see examples) - via email, instant messenger, or mobile device. Technically, this involves APIs, RSS and OPML, if you care about such things.

Why should you care?
Because ZapTXT is just plain useful. If you're like most Web users, you probably keep up with a handful of Web sites. There are just too many sites and applications out there, and not enough time. ZapTXT can do it for you. Just tell us what you're interested in, which Web sites you'd like to follow, and we'll do the rest. You can get on with your life.

What's a ZapTask?
OK, we know, it sounds a little cute, but we had to call it something. A ZapTask is, essentially, what you create with ZapTXT. It's the combination of keyword(s) and Web sites that triggers messages to your email, IM address or mobile device. Here are a few examples:

  • For Users
ZapTXT lets you stay on top of blogs and news sites, monitor Classified sites such as Craigslist for jobs or gigs, apartments, or monitor what your friends, customers or colleagues are up to by using RSS feeds from popular sites such as FriendFeed or LinkedIn.
  • For Publishers
Whether you write a blog, a column in a magazine or you're a teacher trying to get homework notifications out to students - add the handy ZapTXT widget to your website to notify readers about topics that match their interest. High volume enterprise sites such as Sun Microsystems and publishers such as TheStreet.com. IraqSlogger, WiiTracker offer filtering and notifications to their user community using ZapTXT. • For Businesses
ZapTXT has created & demonstrated a filtering & notification platform that lets enterprise users & its prospects track, discover & react to critical events that surface inside enterprise systems, social software and the web, via IM, Email, Mobile or RSS.

As your organization adopts social media initiatives, ZapTXT lets your users tame the content onslaught by monitoring critical events that surface across enterprise applications, social media and the web. Using a combination of our integration adapters, RSS feeds and flexible UI customization features, you can get a basic version of ZapTXT up and running in a day. Developers can use our integration tools to enable deeper customization with homegrown or commercial applications that exist inside an organization. More about our enterprise offering here
